PhoneDecoder ver 1.0
The Problem: Here in the USA anyway, phone numbers are often given out in
"code" on the radio and TV - ie "Just dial 1-800-New Cars", etc. This
makes them easy to remember, of course, but many phones (like mine) have
the numbers only on the keys, with the letters printed either above or
below them. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether to press the
number above or below, and in all cases it is slower because you must
search for the correct letter. Also, if you are using your modem to dial,
you must convert it to numeric format first (by finding a phone and looking
at it's keypad or something similar.
The Solution: PhoneDecoder. Simply enter the coded phone number and press
[RETURN] and the phone number will be displayed in the correct format.
Click the close gadget when you are done.
This is a (VERY) simple utility. It does not save to a file, clipboard, or
anything else. You will need to copy the number yourself if you wish to
save it.
The source (for Blitz) is included. You may distribute it in any way you
wish and use the source as you like.
Please note that this program converts numbers per the arraingement on US
phones - it may not be compatable with the system used in other countries.
I hope you find this of some use!
